Hi, I'm Syaffiqqah.

Most people call me Piqa.

I don't just write code.
I think in systems.

I'm a software developer who turns complex workflows, manual processes, and scattered information into practical digital systems that people can rely on.

About

I like understanding how the whole system fits together.

I'm Syaffiqqah Jamaluddin, a software developer based in Malaysia. I enjoy understanding the complete process behind a system — how information moves, where work gets delayed, what users actually need, and how technology can make the process clearer.

My experience includes web applications, internal portals, calculation tools, dashboards, digital forms, workflow automation, API integrations, and website maintenance.

I work across backend logic, databases, interfaces, testing, deployment, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

I care about building systems that are practical, understandable, maintainable, and dependable under real use.

Some portfolio projects are intentionally described at a general level to respect organizational and client confidentiality.

Six ways I usually help

Different entry points, same underlying question: what does this system actually need to do, and what's the simplest way to make that reliable?

01

Web Application Development

End-to-end builds — from data model to interface — for tools that need to hold up under daily, repeated use.

02

Internal Systems & Dashboards

Purpose-built internal tools that give teams one clear source of truth instead of five conflicting spreadsheets.

03

Workflow Automation

Turning manual, repetitive steps — approvals, calculations, hand-offs — into automated paths with fewer places to drop the ball.

04

API Integration

Connecting the tools a business already relies on so data moves between them without manual re-entry.

05

Process & Technical Consultation

Helping teams clarify requirements, map workflows, evaluate tools, and decide what should be built before development starts.

06

Website Maintenance & Optimization

Keeping existing sites fast, stable, and easy to update — without a full rebuild every time something changes.

Selected Work

Case studies

Details below are described at a systems level — the specific organizations and data are not disclosed.

Operations · Internal Portal

Insurance Operations Portal

Problem

Policy and claims tasks were tracked across email threads and shared spreadsheets, with no single view of status or ownership.

My Role

Sole developer — designed the data model, built the application, and shaped the workflow logic with the ops team.

Solution

A centralized portal with role-based views, status tracking, and structured records replacing ad-hoc spreadsheets.

Impact

Made status, ownership, and workload easier for the team to understand and manage in one place.

Internal Tool · Calculation Logic

Business Calculation Tool

Problem

A core business calculation lived in a fragile spreadsheet, prone to formula errors and version mismatches between team members.

My Role

Rebuilt the logic as a web application, working closely with the team who owned the original spreadsheet.

Solution

A guided, validated tool that encodes the calculation rules once, with a clear audit trail for every result.

Impact

Reduced reliance on fragile spreadsheet versions and made the calculation process easier to follow.

Workflow · Task Management

Task & Workflow Management System

Problem

Cross-team task hand-offs relied on chat messages, so work regularly stalled with no visibility into what was blocking it.

My Role

Led design and build of the system, defining task states and ownership rules alongside the teams using it daily.

Solution

A structured task system with defined stages, ownership, and notifications tied to actual next steps.

Impact

Gave teams clearer visibility into blockers, ownership, and the next step for each task.

Automation · Approvals

Digital Form & Approval Automation

Problem

Paper-based and email-based approvals meant slow turnaround and no reliable record of who approved what, or when.

My Role

Designed and built the digital form logic and routing rules, mapping the existing paper process into a system flow.

Solution

Digital forms with conditional routing that send each request to the right approver automatically, with a timestamped trail.

Impact

Created a clearer approval record and reduced the need for manual follow-up across request stages.

Website · Performance & SEO

Marketing Website Optimization

Problem

A marketing website was slow to load, difficult for the team to update, and underperforming on search visibility.

My Role

Ongoing maintenance and optimization — performance, structure, and editable content for a non-technical marketing team.

Solution

Restructured templates and fields for easier content control, plus performance and on-page SEO improvements.

Impact

Made the site easier to maintain, easier to update, and better structured for ongoing improvements.

How I Work

How I actually work

The tools change from project to project. These don't.

I clarify the real problem before building. Most requests describe a symptom, not the actual issue — I dig until I know which one I'm solving.

I care about clean user flow. A tool only works if the people using it don't have to think hard to use it correctly.

I think about maintainability. I build for the person who has to maintain this after me — sometimes that person is future me.

I communicate technical ideas clearly. If a stakeholder can't follow my explanation, that's on my explanation, not their technical background.

I work across technical and non-technical teams. I'm equally comfortable in a codebase and in a room full of people who've never seen one.

Let's Connect

Let's build something useful together.

Whether you're improving an internal process, planning a focused project, or exploring a practical digital product, I'd be happy to have a conversation.
